My daughter, Nina, and I exploring the vast Expo in 2016

I LOVE the Expo! Best Ways to Explore and Benefit from the Expo

  1. Visit your current vendors. If you are currently using a product where the vendor is at the Expo, you should stop by the booth and ask for some best practices. Many of the software or products we use do more than our current use of that product. You may learn new ways to use the product that could save you time or money.
  2. Look for new vendors for yourself. What need do you have in your business that might solved by a new service or software? Check out vendors who offer a solution. You may be able to get a conference discount if you sign up at the convention. Maybe you had a class where an instructor mentioned a favorite new product. It is very likely you will find them here.
  3. Ask the vendors of the software products if they have a broker price. Many of the software companies give a huge discount if a broker buys it for all the agents. Take these great ideas back to your company so everyone can benefit. It may be that if your broker signs up, a small tech fee to the agents could cover the cost 2-4 new software options for all the agents in that office.
  4. Vendors are creating the new buzz and business models in the industry. If you want to look forward and see where the industry is going, ask them about the products coming in the future. Many of these vendors are helping agents use technology well so that the agents can continue to give great value and face to face service for their clients.
  5. Visit the REALTOR® Booth. While there is a lot in this booth, some highlights are that you can hear short classes in the NAR Theater, learn more about NAR Member Benefits and Designations, and you can sign up for the headphone giveaway if you are a subscriber to the center for REALTOR® Development Podcast, which I host. I will be there on Sunday midday.
  6. Visit the International Pavilion. Lastly, if you have any interest in working with international clients, look for a class or session with or about the people group that is coming to your part of the country so you can learn more about adapting your business to the needs and expectations they have.
