Ok, truth be told, I am not a runner. I am a swimmer and a biker, but I am determined to do this 5k in Boston on Saturday morning. To get ready for the run, I started using the Couch to 5k app these past several weeks. That app was a life saver. I think I am ready, are you? Even if you’re going to walk the 5k, consider the following too so you don’t miss a beat.
- Get your playlist in order. I have all my motivational music in my workout list. I need the right music to help keep me motivated.
- Buy an armband that holds a credit card, room key and your smartphone. I bought one from amazon. Had it the next day. If you wait to buy it, have it shipped to the hotel.
- Dress for the weather. I’m from Chicago and we run in the cold, so I’ll have a cap, gloves and cold running gear.
- Go to bed early. You know who you are, if you like to hang out all night, go to bed early Friday night so you are prepared for the run.
