So it’s that tome again—it’s that time again—for thousands of REALTORS® to head to Boston, MA for the annual National Association of REALTORS® Conference & Expo. The packing and airline flights have commenced!
For those that haven’t attended a National Conference before, the event schedule can be totally overwhelming. Visiting the conference website and using the conference app—download it from the App Store and Google Play store here—can seem intimidating, and there are all those separate list of things to do?! Governance meetings, conference sessions, special events, and the REALTORS® Expo and activities. My best advice is to work with someone that has attended several NAR Annuals to help you navigate the website and the schedules. In other words, have a mentor if you can. Seasoned conference attendees tend to always be helpful. Most often, they’ll share the things you need to know over lunch or coffee. If you are a seasoned attendee, try to help those that need it when you can.
Lastly, let’s not forget about safety. It’s way too easy to look like a tourist in a city’s convention area. The best way to stay safe is to be smart about things. Stay focused and alert in your surroundings. Avoid using your phones and electronics while you are walking outside of the hotels and conference buildings. And my best advice: always stay in groups and have buddies, especially when off campus. Don’t look, act or appear like a target.
Stay safe, learn lots, and enjoy the conference and all that Boston has to offer its visitors.
