You just never know who you might meet at NAR Annual. I sat down to watch the General Session on Saturday and chatted with Aad Lafeber, who traveled from the Urecht area of the Netherlands. He was hoping to create an exchange program for REALTORS® and his association. What an exciting possibility! How could we make this happen? I decided I wanted to add this to the Conference Live site and see what happened — would others be as excited as I was about this idea? We will find out.
I met Aad the next day in the Global Real Estate Pavilion and it was buzzing with activity. There were education sessions and dozens of roundtables filled with attendees. Each table had a flag. Since there were so many countries represented, the flags on the table rotate, so all attendees can conduct meetings on a set schedule. While I was waiting for Aad I kept meeting the most interesting people. I met Donavan Steyl and Dee Berry from Cape Town, South Africa and learned their office was 100% paperless except for offers which are signed by buyers and 100% virtual except for a small administrative hub. Amazing! The table switched from South Africa to Italy and we all met Federico Ranuzzi de Bianchi from Bologna, Italy. In less than a half hour, I had chatted with attendees from three different countries. Next year I will schedule more time to spend in the Global Pavilion!
